How a thumbnail carries a point of view.

It started with one question: what is this video really about, and who is it from? The answers decided everything that followed.

After: a clean white thumbnail with the headline Meet GPT-6.1 Terra in huge black type, a laptop with a glowing logo connected by a cable to a globe, and a search bar reading build a new world Before: a dark photo of the Earth from space with the words Introducing and GPT-6.1 Terra in white type across the top and bottom BeforeAfter
Drag the handle to compare.
After: a smiling woman at a laptop on a wooden table, with a white prompt bar reading Fix the bugs above a fuzzy blue creature in a black beret Before: a smiling woman at a laptop on a wooden table with the word dots in glowing rainbow letters to the right BeforeAfter
After: a woman in an armchair browsing on her phone in a bright living room, with price tags floating over the chair and lamp, and a shopping agent prompt reading I’m redecorating for the holidays, can you find & order my furniture? Before: a night sky with the Milky Way and the words Build retail shopping assistants in white type BeforeAfter

01

Before & After For OpenAI

The starting point
The original thumbnail was just a still image from the video. The bottom is cut off, and it looks sloppy. Nothing about it displays the product’s potential.
The decision
Make it an introduction, and show the idea. “Meet GPT-6.1 Terra” puts the product’s name in one huge line. A laptop plugged straight into the globe shows the promise at a glance, and the prompt bar, “build a new world,” finishes the thought.
The result
  • Instant read. One headline and one object. The idea lands without a second look.
  • Aligned brand identity. OpenAI is one of the biggest companies in the world. Their branding should reflect it: clean, sleek, premium.

Variations

One idea, more than one way to say it.

Every thumbnail we deliver comes with variations: the same point of view, framed differently, so you can test what your audience actually clicks.

GPT-6.1 Terra launch

Variation A: the headline Meet GPT-6.1 Terra above a laptop with a glowing logo connected by a cable to a globe, and a search bar reading build a new world
A The idea as an object: a laptop plugged into the world.
Variation B: the headline Meet GPT-6.1 Terra above an open laptop showing the Earth inside the chat window, and a search bar reading build a new world
B The product in use: the world, inside the chat.

dots “Fix the bugs”

Variation A: a smiling woman at a laptop with huge glowing rainbow dots letters behind her and a prompt bar reading Fix the bugs
A The name as the backdrop: big, glowing, impossible to miss.
Variation B: the same scene with a small dots logo above the prompt bar, and the room in sharper focus
B The name as a signature: small, and the scene leads.

02  The positioning problem

Make what’s distinctive about you impossible to miss.

Someone lands on your channel, your podcast page, or your latest video. In a few seconds they decide whether this is for them. If they can’t tell what you stand for, or what makes you different from a dozen similar shows, the quality of the work never gets a chance.

It usually isn’t a talent problem. The ideas are good and the recording is strong. But the identity grew up piece by piece, each release looks a little different from the last, and nobody has decided which part of you should lead.

Sound familiar?

  • We’re proud of what we do but need better execution on YouTube
  • Our channel looks inconsistent
  • We’re overwhelmed with the strategy options
  • We have an editor, but are lost on content strategy
  • I want something that portrays our brand the right way

03  The creative approach

Strategy that earns the view. Packaging that ties it together.

We don’t just package videos. We create an identity framework that establishes you as elite in your niche.

01 · Content strategy

Videos worth making

We start with your audience, not a blank page. Research into what people are already searching for and watching decides which ideas to make, and which to skip.

For exampleTwo ideas you love. We find the one with real demand behind it and the strongest angle on it.

02 · Positioning

Positioning that clicks

We define who you’re for and what you see that others don’t, then turn it into an angle a viewer understands in a second. That’s what makes someone pick your video over the one beside it.

For exampleA host who is equally funny and rigorous. We decide which one leads, and which one earns the second look.

03 · Video structure

Structure that keeps people watching

A strong hook, a clear outline and a pace that pays off what the title promised. The video is built to hold attention from the first seconds to the end.

For exampleIf the title promises a mistake, the opening shows it fast and the middle keeps the answers coming.

04 · Visual packaging

The bow on top

Identity, titles and thumbnails that wrap the whole thing up. One consistent look and voice, so every video reads as yours and the strategy behind it shows.

For exampleOne accent color, two typefaces, a fixed place for the face. Every future thumbnail starts from the same grid.

Our philosophy

Taste is the moat.

Tools make it easy for anyone to produce something. They don’t decide what’s worth producing. Making videos is easy - executing with elite positioning is what you’re hiring us for.

  1. Choose the right angle.Every video could be told a dozen ways. We pick the story your audience is already looking for and say it in a few words.
  2. Know what to emphasize.A title and thumbnail can carry one idea well. We decide what leads and quiet everything else, so that idea is impossible to miss.
  3. Create a coherent visual language. One look, one voice and one structure across every release, so your videos feel like one world instead of a pile of one-offs.
  4. Elite packaging that separates you from the 99%.Not only do we create brand coherence, our packaging competes with the best on the platform.

06  Client work

What building a channel from zero looked like.

Portrait of Alex Heiden

Alex Heiden

SaaS founder

This is an older case study, however it’s one of my favorites because we literally created his channel for him. 0 subscribers → 35,000 subscribers under our guidance.

Alex came to me wanting to start a YouTube channel. He had a business and a lot of knowledge, but hadn’t recorded before. This is what I did for him:

  • Set up his channel from zero
  • Developed his content strategy
  • Created his brand identity
  • Planned his first video, then built his most popular video content to date
  • Established a visual identity he carried with him to build 47,000 subscribers
Alex Heiden's YouTube channel in a window: 47.2K subscribers, 322 videos, and his popular videos including NO CODE SAAS, CUSTOMERS ZERO and 1000, and 7 FIGURE IDEAS

Outcome from this result

  • Hundreds of leads gained per video
  • Sponsored by HubSpot, earning $3k-$5k per video
  • Built a community to thousands of members
  • Established authority and expertise that helps close deals to this day (3 years later)
  • Became the #1 SaaS Creator in 2023
  • Multi 6-figures in opportunities generated

A brand no person or AI can replace.

I’m Tristan.

For about a decade I’ve been building businesses and audiences: digital products, faceless channels, and channels for software businesses and creators.

The part I’m elite at is the content strategy and creative direction. I’m top 1% in my space at building identities that become addicting for people like you.

Welcome to my creative studio, where I’m excited to build a world for your products and work alongside your team to bring that vision to life.

08  Questions

Good to know.

Do I need an existing audience?

No. You need real substance: something worth saying, and either published videos or upcoming ones for the four video packages. A big audience isn’t required.

Can you work with my editor or team?

Yes. That’s a common setup. You get final assets, editable source files where agreed, an application guide and a recorded walkthrough, so your editor can apply the direction without me.

Can we improve the presentation without replacing the whole brand?

Yes. We start with what’s already working and keep it. The direction can be an evolution of your current look or a bigger shift, depending on what the work needs.

What do you need from me?

One kickoff conversation, any existing brand assets such as logos, photos and past thumbnails, the videos or outlines for the four packages, and one person on your side who can make decisions and consolidate feedback.

What’s included in revisions?

Two rounds of consolidated feedback, with written feedback between milestones. Anything beyond that, or work outside the agreed scope, is something we’d talk about first.

Do you guarantee growth?

No, and nobody honest can. I can promise careful, specific creative work that represents you clearly. What happens with views, clicks and subscribers depends on many things I don’t control.

Can we keep working together afterward?

Yes. The Ongoing Creative Partnership continues the work with concepts, titles, thumbnails and consistency across releases. We define the volume and deliverables together in a proposal.
